The Dunfermline Food and Craft Show will take place on the weekend of April 29 and 30.

And organisers Dunfermline Delivers and Kingsgate Shopping Centre plan to build on the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Karen Davidson, Kingsgate assistant manager, said: “The event attracted local customers and visitors from all over Fife who discovered the offer of independent and national businesses in and around town and hopefully encouraged repeat visits and dwell time.

“We here at Kingsgate are excited to be part of it.’’

There will be around 40 stalls in the centre showcasing the best in local produce and crafts and highlighting West Fife’s taste and talent.

Last year’s event had a packed programme of events and activities promoting the extensive menu of products offered by local firms and micro-businesses, including artisan breads, specialist cheeses and mouth-watering cakes.

This year the attractions include Traybake decoration with Caketastic and a ‘Make Your Own Lunch’ cooking lesson at Grill 48 in East Port.

The restaurant will also be the venue for a free mocktail-making event as well as a fun workshop by Sew Yarn Craft where kids aged five to 10 can learn how to make pom pom pets.

The Sew Yarn Craft shop in High Street will stage free-motion embroidery sessions using a Toyota Oeakaki Renaissance sewing machine.

There will be free tastings organised by M&S, the Pancake Place, BB’s Coffee and Muffins, Starbucks, Debenhams and others.

At the Kingsgate there will be displays by Daft for Crafts, Allander Record Fairs, Cupcake Planet and others.

Entertainment will be provided by Dance Ecosse, On Pointe Performing Arts, stories and songs with Suit and Pace and the Carnegie Youth Theatre.

The Canmore Bruery tour, which takes you on a guide tour around the on-site micro-brewery, will return again this year

Chris Foote, events manager for Dunfermline Delivers, said: “We were delighted with the response from businesses for the first food and crafts weekend last year.

“There are top class eateries and retailers in Dunfermline. Many are long established but some are newer and many people may still not know about them yet.

“This event will again provide a stage to showcase what the town has to offer.”
