Fife Dunfermline Printmakers Workshop
We are an artist run cooperative printmaking workshop established in 1981.
The workshop has charitable status and although one of the smaller Scottish studios, achieves much with limited resources. We operate very closely to the original ideals that gave birth to the printmaking workshop movement.
Our workshop is in the basement of a building that was built in the 1920s. The building is owned by Fife Council and is a well-used community and learning centre. Our studio is well equipped with a range of fine art printmaking facilities including copper plate and zinc etching, water-based screenprinting, wood and linocut relief printing, collograph printing and various forms of monoprinting. These facilities are available to all our members on a key access system.
Introductory and specialised courses are run throughout the year for members and non-members. As FDPW is run by members there are no paid staff outside course provision. Technical support is currently provided for members voluntarily during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
FDPW has an active exhibition programme that encompasses local and Scotland-wide venues. Individual artist members contribute prints to galleries and exhibitions both national and international, many receiving recognition and awards for their work.Visit their website
