Fire Station Creative
Fire Station Creative is in Dunfermline, Fife. This iconic building was designed by James Shearer and built in 1934. The Fife Fire and Rescue Service relocated in 2010 and this extraordinary building had been lying empty since, a listed building on the ‘at risk register’.
It is currently owned by Fife Council, which has agreed to rent it at a peppercorn rate to the charity Fire Station Creative.
The Fire Station has served its people well over the years. The energy is alive in the building to this day.
The cafe is on the ground floor, in the light filled gallery. It offers what you have come to expect, freshly made produce, bought locally wherever possible – tasting delicious and looking fantastic! The art of food is central here.
COFFEE AND CAKE
Freshly made cakes and scones (including gluten free) complement the wide range of drinks – delicious coffees, a range of teas from The Wee Tea Company, the brand new Real Hot Chocolate – dark, rich and real. Come for a treat.
On Saturday and Sunday we have a brunch menu offering Eggs Benedict, Eggs Balmoral, American Pancakes, Hash Browns – with lots of hot coffee, the weekend papers and a roaring fire – why wouldn’t you?
The menu is simple and varied with soup changing daily, a variety of sandwiches as well as light bites and a children’s platter. There are also more complex dishes – slow braised Pork Belly with roast onion, saute potato and herb oil.
Every Friday evening – Open ’till 9pm
Come and enjoy the moment! Serving drinks and snacks – cocktails, wines, beers and sharing platters. Open till 9pm every Friday.
We are in the process of developing a programme of master-classes, tasting events and supper clubs. If you are interested in any of these – please sign up to our email alerts or facebook page to keep in touch.
