Welcome to Khushi’s Restaurant in Dunfermline.
Khushi’s was the first Indian Restaurant to open in Edinburgh in 1947. The Founder, the late Khushi Mohammed knew that to succeed he needed to produce the best quality and most authentic curries that he could make. At a time when Indian spices and ingredients were impossible to get in Scotland, his spices were imported from the Punjab.
Using only the freshest ingredients and years of pioneering Indian food in Scotland he made Khushi’s an Edinburgh institution. His passion continues to make us endeavor to produce the best and has led to exciting new openings of our restaurants on the East Coast.
Family members are still active in ensuring food quality on a daily basis and continuously maintain the high standards. Our fresh food ethos has always been to source local high quality Scottish fish, meat and vegetables for our dishes to help promote local businesses.
Our restaurants have always been designed to be unique, contemporary and original but our 60 years of service has always been about traditional Indian food. The success of Khushi’s lies in our passion that the cooking methods we use are unique to us.
The secret is in the in-house preparation of fresh ingredients. We also produce our own cheese and yoghurt for cooking and in our continued pursuit for excellence we have strived to make our entire menu unique to Khushi’s
