The Lindsay Pit Disaster

7th December until 8th January

At 3.50sm, on Saturday 14th December 1957, nine men were killed and eleven were injured as the result of an underground explosion at the Lindsay Colliery, Kelty. To mark the 60th anniversary, Kelty Community Council have put together an exhibition to describe the tragic event and the acts of bravery of the men who went into the danger area to attempt rescues. The exhibition aims to identify how the coal industry developed in Kelty and the influence that it had in forming the community.

CHRISTMAS OPEN STUDIOS

A HUGE THANK YOU

To all of those who came along and made our Christmas Open Studios such a success this year.  We hope you enjoyed the weekend.  As you know our studios open twice a year, with summer and winter shows but all of our artists and makers open their studios daily by appointment. So if you missed our event last weekend but would still like to order or commission a piece by one of your local artists, we have new signage in our cafe  with contact details of each studio.  Just get in touch.
